
How the Banjo Sounds
The Banjo, while traditionally associated with bluegrass and country music has been incorporated and popularized by many different songs and categories of music.
One of the great banjo players, Earl Scruggs, is seen here playing a very famous song for the banjo, Foggy Mountain Breakdown, with some other men.
This group, playing in a classic type string band, is called the Osborne Brothers. The classic song theyre playing is called Rocky Top from 1967
This song, by Jerry Reed, is called East Bound and Down and features a signature banjo part.
This song is very well known in all of music mostly because it can be done on any instrument. However the first came from this scene in the movie Deliverance; its called Dueling Banjos.
The song Gallows Pole by Led Zeppelin shows the versatility of the banjo. While the banjo doesn't play a major role in this song, it is still groundbreaking to have a banjo in a rock bands song.
One of the now famous bluegrass groups is Mumford and Sons. This song I Will Wait is well known for having a great banjo part. This song really shows how the banjo even today is a big part and influence in music.
